چکیده

Intraaanial epidermoid tumourS. which are indusion tumours of the central nervous system. are congenital neoplasms that grow through desquamation of keratin. cholesterol. and cellular debris. They constitute 0.5 to LS per cent of all brain tumours (15).The expansion usually conforms to available subarachnoid spaces (2. 15).The most common intraaaniallocations are the parachiasmal and cerebellopontine angle regions (i. 4) and the most common single symptom is seizures (7).The goal of surgery is total removal (16). These are curable tumours and the only real chance for this cure is the first operation. We report the case of a patient with epidermoid tumour in the longitudinal interhemispheric fissure who presented with convulsions.

Typical pres...

Shape Analysis of Human Brain Interhemispheric Fissure Bending in MRI

This paper introduces a novel approach to analyze Yakovlevian torque by quantifying the bending of human brain interhemispheric fissure in three-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging. It extracts the longitudinal medial surface between the cerebral hemispheres, which are segmented with an accurate and completely automatic technique, as the shape representation of the interhemispheric fissure. ...

Falx and interhemispheric fissure on axial CT: I. Normal anatomy.

To determine the normal appearance of the flax and interhemispheric fissure, 200 consecutive normal CT scans were evaluated prospectively. On unenhanced scans, the normal falx is visualized in 90% of patients and therefore interhemispheric hyperdensity alone should not be considered a sign of subarachnoid hemorrhage. The flax is most often (88%) visualized in the posterior part of the interhemi...

Intracranial symptomatic giant arachnoid cyst of the interhemispheric fissure presenting with frontal lobe syndrome.

Symptomatic interhemispheric arachnoid cysts (ACs) are extremely rare lesions seen more frequently in the elderly. Only 13 cases of symptomatic interhemispheric ACs in the elderly have previously been reported. Herein, we describe a 70-year-old female with symptoms of vertigo, memory and behavior disturbances. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a giant arachnoid cyst (AC) on the interhem...

Falx and interhemispheric fissure on axial CT: II. Recognition and differentiation of interhemispheric subarachnoid and subdural hemorrhage.

Interhemispheric hyperdensity or unenhanced computed tomography was originally considered a sign of subarachnoid hemorrhage, the "falx sign." It has since been identified as a normal feature and has also been seen with interhemispheric subdural hemorrhage. To determine the differential features of interhemispheric hemorrhage, 50 patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage and 32 patients with interhe...
